Siena is the most majestic of Italy’s mediaeval cities. It lies
at the heart of a countryside that is the very essence of Tuscany. Unique
in the preservation of an intact mediaeval cityscape, Siena is the best
place for a treasure hunt through narrow streets, museums and churches,
to discover the magical works of Duccio, Simone Martini and the Lorenzetti.
Siena is also the ideal base from which to explore the rich variety of
its hinterland: hill-top fortresses, idyllic villas and gardens, glorious
churches, all set in the entrancing countryside of SouthernTuscany.
