Munich is among Germany’s best-loved destinations, a sophisticated
city where Bavarian tradition meets Italian flair. The ‘city with
a heart’ is a haven for culture, with world-class museums and a
vibrant arts scene. The surrounding countryside – between the
Danube and the Alps – retains it rural charm, and we will visit
the glorious Baroque churches of Andechs and Diessen on the Ammersee,
the old Episcopal seat of Freising and the grandiose country residence
of Nymphenburg. This tour will include tickets to Bellini’s Norma
and Händel’s Alcina at the Munich Opera Festival, one of the
oldest in Europe.
