2008 celebrates the 500th anniversary of the birth of Andrea Palladio, one of the world’s most influential architects. Palladio and the countryside of the Veneto, where he lived and worked, are inextricably linked. From Petrarch’s time wealthy Venetian and mainland aristocrats wanted grand buildings for their rich farmlands, properties which reflected social status and answered agricultural needs. The villas Palladio designed around Vicenza and Padua are among the most beautiful houses ever built and will be the focus of this fascinating tour.

This Art Pursuits study tour includes:

Scheduled return flights with British Airways between London Gatwick and Venice airport – transfers between airport and hotels and excursions by private coach

The price of this tour is £1350 per person (based on two people sharing; single supplement £110). ‘No flights option’ £1240.
