Antwerp is a great city of Flemish culture, which rose to its first
golden age in the sixteenth century. The seventeenth century saw the
flourishing of Antwerp's arts under Peter Paul Rubens, whilst today it
is a vibrant twenty-first century city. We will explore Antwerp's wealth
of historic buildings, churches and museums, discovering art and architecture
from the refinement and sophistication of Gothic churches and the sensuous
splendour of Baroque at its best, to the newest Postmodern landmark,
Richard Rogers' dramatic Law Courts, opened in 2006.
