The Eternal City in the Age of Michelangelo and Raphael
3 - 9 November 2010
Lecturer: Dr Paula Nuttall
Michelangelo and Raphael were celebrated as the greatest artists of
their day, producing masterpieces for the popes and for Roman high society.
Their grandiose compositions are the epitome of High Renaissance art
and influenced Western art for centuries. This Art Pursuits study tour
will take you through the Eternal City in the footsteps of these two
artist-superstars and their contemporaries. It includes a special private
view of Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican stanze
and of Michelangelo’s works in the Sistine Chapel.
