This tour explores the mediaeval heritage of one of the most beautiful
and unspoilt areas of France. We will visit the richly decorated Romanesque
pilgrimage churches at Moissac, Conques and Toulouse, and discover the
impact of the political and religious turmoil provoked by the Cathar
rebellion, the Albigensian heresy of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries,
from the stunning defences of the walled town Carcassonne to the great
fortress like cathedral of Albi itself.
